According the The Thrilling Detective website, this story was co-written with Dave Foley. Dave Foley, in addition to being Don’s fellow writer, poker companion and close friend, was previously married to Sandra Kolb, who became Don’s second wife several years after Dave’s untimely death of leukemia in late-1963, just months after the birth of Dave and Sandy’s only child, Tod. When Don and Sandy married, Don legally adopted Tod, who has since borne the name Tod David Foley Westlake.
